Dear Alumni,
Hope all is
well.
Just a quick
update:
- The girls’ lacrosse program now spans 2nd
grade through 12th, and of course the alumni portion as well. We have experienced continued success at the
high school, in a large part due to the growing success of the youth
program. At the high school, in the past 2
seasons we’ve had All-Americans: Jess Lane in 2005, Allie Duclos
in 2006 (Allie is also on the USA U-19 training squad!), and Vik Kuhns
in 2006. But of course the success goes
far beyond this—solid teams and wonderful people.
- As for me, I’m in my 17th
year as head coach of this wonderful program! I
can still remember the 54 players and me as the only coach back in 1991! Teaching is still wonderful and new/fresh, but
I really look forward to the spring! Peg,
my wife, is developing her massage therapy/yoga practice (basically a
spa at the house!) and Taylor’s
in 3rd grade and loves horses, softball L,
and life.
With Lo’s
(Lauren Gallagher, nee Steinnecker) and my sister
Jackie’s help, we’re trying to keep the Alumni Directory current. Take a look at the web site (swlacrosse.org)
and let Jackie know if there are things that you want changed, added,
etc.
(JCusson@cox.net).
Also, get out
your calendars—our annual Alumni Game: Thursday, May 31 (Home-SWHS
J)
at 5pm. We’ll play
on the
front field of the High School. We would love to see you all. Please
let me
know if you’ll be able to attend or not (coachduke@hotmail.com)
Let us know
what you’re doing, whether you’ll be able to
play in the game or not, and any other pieces of info—basically, keep
in touch!
Thanks, Duke
P.S. Thanks, Lauren
and Jackie, for all of your help!
P.P.S. Please
pass this along to other alums that might not
be on the distribution list. Thanks.
